Rewarding Young Talent
Rising Star high school students have long been integral members of the ensemble, and these outstanding young men and women deserve support as they further their education.
The Wind Symphony will award a graduating high school senior from our Rising Star program (who meets all criteria) each spring, as funds allow. Covid-19 prevented a scholarship from being awarded in 2021 as the TWS paused for 15 months.
The 2020 recipient was Nichole Hollenbeck, a french horn player from Roane County High School. Nichole has since been a tremendous asset to the University of Tennessee Music Department.
Scholarship monies come directly from the TWS budget. Donations to the TWS to assist this program are greatly appreciated.
