Rewarding Young Talent
Rising Star high school students have long been integral members of the ensemble, and these outstanding young men and women deserve support as they further their education.
The Wind Symphony will award a graduating high school senior from our Rising Star program (who meets all criteria) each spring, as funds allow. Our recipients:
2020: Nichole Hollenbeck, a french horn player from Roane County High School.
2023: Matthew Mihalic, a clarinet player from Central High School (Knoxville).
Scholarship monies come directly from the TWS budget. Donations to the TWS to assist this program are greatly appreciated.
